The old saying, ” First time, shame on you. Second time, shame on me. I purchased and serviced my cardinal and gold, USC Jaguar like clockwork. First time, heat was blaring from my air conditioner. You need a new transmission. You see lady, its like a refrigerator in a refrigerator.
Second time, “check engine” light on dash. Lady you need a new transmission. I paid about $150.00 to get my car out of the shiny clean, well located shop. A friend referred me to Ian Mitchell. I called and asked for a second opinion, because if I did need a new transmission then I would have just purchased a new Jag. I explained the light. Ian Mitchell said, ‘ Before you drive over, try filling your gas tank with premium gas; tightly screw the cap onto the tank; drive round for 20 minutes. LIKE MAGIC, the light went off. I called back with the good news and his bill. Ian said, “You must have gotten air in your tank. No bill. It happens.” I am loyal to Mitchell’s. Honest, real ethical craftsmanship. Worth the drive to Culver City.

I was having my Land Rover SE serviced and repaired at another independent British Auto shop and was constantly going back for repairs “on the repairs”. I thought I was saving money. I happened across Mitchell’s British Automotive and stopped in just for an evaluation and to get a quote on some minor repair work. Turns out much of the work done previously was “suspect” at best. Ian and Glen took me in like I was family. I got my car fixed and have never had to take it back for the same thing twice. I’d never take my Range anywhere else. These guys are neat and clean, friendly, and extremely professional. They even gave me a rental car for free when they had to keep my car for a couple days.

As a woman, I very much appreciate the willingness of the MBA team to explain repairs as well as part costs. I have even found them to be advocates on my behalf to my own insurance company re collison repairs. I have known Ian for 20 years, beginning with his being recommended as the “best service rep” at an unnamed dealership service center and followed him to this location. I have and will continue to recommend MBA to anyone knowing that they, like I, will experience reliable excellent service from this highly trustworthy business.

My Jag XJR went into Engine Failsafe (Limp Home) mode. I know a little bit about auto mechanics (dangerous) and thought that I might have a serious problem again, since the supercharger and timing belt tensioners were replaced within the last year. The shop that did the previous repair could not properly read the trouble code. Took the car to MBA and 20 minutes later the car was diagnosed and repaired with a simple adjustment to the (misadjusted) thottle cable. I felt that I received honest treatment with a detailed explaination from well trained and experienced professionals (which was not my experience with the dealer).
